Virvelvind est un châle triangulaire très profond et symétrique tricoté de gauche à droite en aller-retours. Un jeu de torsades, de mailles torses, de jersey envers et une bordure en picots qui grandit
au fur et à mesure de la construction du châle vient former un dessin simple et élégant tout le long
d'un des côtés du châle. A la fin, un autre jeu de motifs est tricoté perpendiculairement au corps
du châle en rangs raccourcis et vient habiller l'autre côté du châle.
Virvelvind veut dire tourbillon en suédois. C'est ce nom qui m'a inspiré le choix et le rythme des points utilisés.
Laine: Approximativement 700m de laine fingering.
Le modèle original est tricoté avec 2 écheveaux de By Night Comet (100% Corriedale • 100g = 400m) teints au cachou.Taille : 170cm x 85cm
Echantillon (après blocage) : 18m x 32 rangs = 10cm en jersey (L’échantillon n’est pas indispensable mais un changement d’échantillon affectera la taille finale du châle)
Aiguilles : 3,5mm (Etant donné le nombre de mailles des dernières sections, je conseille d'utiliser des aiguilles circulaires pour plus de confort)
Autres : 2 anneaux marqueur, 1 aiguille à torsade, aiguille à laine, ciseaux et épingles pour la mise en forme
Virvelvind is a very deep triangle and symmetric shawl knit from left to right and worked flat. A fun combination of cables, twisted stitches, reverse knit and a picot border that grows
larger as the shawl is knitted designs a simple but yet stylish pattern that runs along one side of the triangle. In the end, another pattern combination is knit back and forth using short rows
perpendicular to the shawl and covers the other side of the shawl.
Virvelvind means whirlwind in Swedish. That word inspired me the patterns I used and how I played with them.
Yarn : About 700m fingering-weight yarn. Sample is knit with By Night Comet (100% Corriedale • 100g = 400m) dyed with cutch.
Size : 170cm x 85cm (67 x 33,5")
Gauge (after blocking): 18m x 32 rows = 10cm (4 x 4") in stockinette stitch (Gauge is not necessary but a different one will affect the size of the finished shawl or the amount of yarn used)
Needles : 3,5mm (US #4) (Using circular needles will make it more comfortable to knit - Adapt needle size to obtain gauge)
Notions : 1 stitch marker, cable needle, darning needles, scissors and pins for blocking
